Blank Spot is a short documentary film created by TLC Pennsylvania Master Naturalist Graduate Ken Hemphill, produced by TLC, and featuring TLC Executive Director Gwen Lacy. It provides a comprehensive overview of the issues TLC and other groups face each day, and the importance of conserving open space to preserve our health and well-being for future generations.
From Ken, “There is no other way to describe the loss of two million acres of open space each year in this country as anything but a crisis. While land conservancies struggle to find the money to conserve a fraction of the land the U.S. will lose in the coming decades, it is critical that Americans be made aware of how open space benefits us. We forget that we are a part of nature, not apart from it. We can either decide now to save what’s left, or leave nothing behind for our grandchildren.”
Blank Spot was awarded Best Documentary Short at the 2014 Oregon International Film Festival.
