Leveraging Funding Sources

Leveraging Funding Sources

TLC leverages funding to make conservation affordable for all landowners.

TLC understands that not every landowner can afford the costs associated with conserving their property. Whenever possible, TLC works with  local townships, county, state and private foundations to leverage the funds to purchase conservation easements, agricultural easements and trail easements.  There are a host of grants available and TLC works diligently to compile a grant package that fits your unique conservation project.  TLC has also established a LAND RESERVE FUND to offset some of the transaction costs of conserving your land.

The following are approximate yearly grant deadlines:

Ongoing- Township Open Space Funding (Check to see if your township has open space funds available)

Conserved farms, historic and natural resources, open space and trails contribute greatly to our quality of life.

February-  Chester County Conservation Grants

April- Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) State Grants

August-  Chester County and Commonwealth Agricultural Easements Grants

Note:  Although there are a few exceptions, most grant funders require a 50% match. This is usually provided by your local township or yourself as a charitable donation- see the Tax Benefits of Conservation Easements page for more information.

TLC is committed to making conservation affordable and will work with you to that end.  To determine if you are eligible to apply for grant funding, please contact Gwen Lacy, Executive Director  for a consultation 610-347-0347 x 107.
