Wildlife in Winter Series

Join wildlife biologists Gary Stolz and Tim Zador to investigate our local wildlife in winter! This special edition series, in memory of Rosalind Schwebel, will focus on how preserving land from development can positively affect all animals, wild and domestic. Join us to understand why animals need conserved open space and how populations can thrive when their basic needs are met.

We are also excited to announce that this years’ Wildlife in Winter program will run in conjunction with Longwood Community Read. To expand your Wildlife in Winter experience, please read The Tree Lady by Kate Sessions or Lab Girl by Hope Jahren to become inspired to care for the Earth. Be motivated by Rachel Ignofsky’s Women in Science to ponder the many different ways to become an advocate for preserving open space to saving wildlife, improving habitat, and spurring conservation. Happy reading!
